CSV Download
CSV Download
Export AI chat tables to a CSV file — free, no account or license required.
CSV Download Integration
Turn AI chat tables into a CSV file you can open in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet app — no account, no license, no setup.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- The ExtractDB extension installed on your browser.
- A structured AI response (markdown table, headings with lists, or nested headings).
No license key or third-party account is required. CSV export is always available on the free tier.
Connection Steps
No connection is needed. CSV Download is enabled by default in the extension.
- Open the ExtractDB extension popup to confirm CSV Download shows as available.
- You are ready to export immediately — skip to Exporting data below.
Exporting data
Click Export on a chat message
- Open a supported AI chat (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and others).
- Get a structured response — pipe tables, headings with sub-items, or nested headings work best.
- Click the ExtractDB button next to the message's Copy button.
Select the detected table
- In the export modal, review the content tree on the left.
- Select the table structure you want to export (nodes marked with a TABLE badge).
- In the destination dropdown at the top, choose CSV Download.
Choose fields and filename
- Review the included fields — toggle off any columns you do not need.
- Edit the Filename if you want a different name (
.csvis added automatically). - Check the preview row count before exporting.
Download the file
- Click Export (or Download CSV).
- Your browser saves the file to your default downloads folder.
- Open it in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, or any CSV-compatible app.
Features
- No auth required: Export without connecting any account or entering API keys.
- Field selection: Include only the columns you need before downloading.
- Custom filename: Name the file after the detected table for easier organization.
- Works offline: Parsing and file generation happen entirely in your browser.
Troubleshooting
- No table detected: Ask the AI for a markdown table or structured list. Plain paragraphs cannot be exported as rows.
- Download blocked: Check your browser's download permissions for the extension. Allow downloads if prompted.
- Empty file: Make sure at least one field is included in the export mapping.
- Garbled characters in Excel: Open the CSV via Data → From Text/CSV and select UTF-8 encoding, or import into Google Sheets which handles UTF-8 by default.
Privacy: CSV export runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to ExtractDB servers or any third party.
